한국 사람이 아니다
Lissa and I saw Runaway Jury today after breakfast today...and...wow. This was a great movie. One of those that, partway through, you sort of stop and say to yourself, "damn...this is really good!"
I admit to being a sucker for a courtroom drama movie. And I love, love, love John Cusack and, even moreso, Jeremy Piven. I like Rachel Weisz and Dustin Hoffman, too. But I am not a big Grisham fan, nor am I mad for Gene Hackman (he's a bad guy though, so that's okay).
The plot is captivating. There's intrigue. There's lovely New Orleans voodoo backgrounds. There's a whole lot of Macintosh technology (including an iPod used as a file transfer device). And there's twists and turns that even very jaded moviegoers (well, me) didn't quite see coming. It's hard to surprise me. But I was surprised at how this turned out.
There is so much subtlety in this movie, it's splendid. Every little detail is important and most of them come back later. It's the sort of movie that when it's done, you want to go back and see the early scenes again because, now, they'll make sense.
Absolutely bloody brilliant.
