Mind you, I never really liked him to begin with. I mean, the media was all "whoo-hoo Gangé, now the Sox are going to be unstoppable!" but I was skeptical. "Better than Okajima and Papelbon? How is that possible?" I took a wait and see attitude. Soon enough, my wariness paid off. Despite constant reminders of his amazing record (to which I'd retort, "fine, but what has he done for us lately?") I refused to recognise him as the Best Thing Ever. I think the best comment on his career as a Red Sock was in Tampa, when the crowd booed him.
A lot of words have been written about M. Gagné in the past several hours, both professionally and on LiveJournal. So here I am adding a few more.
