Okay. I'm so glad we went...apparently, their cook was trying to stop the guy's bleeding while the cops were still putting on their rubber gloves. A 6 House employee "pushed the guy's intestines back in." And yet, the cops were driving by all the time we were in there tonight. Five customers in the place and the cops feel a need to double-park a paddywagon out in front of the bar...

Much was said about a petition. We talked to the manager, Chris, who's been there since the remodel.

And the story is that the guy who was stabbed had been drinking all day; there had been a fight at the Yacht Club earlier, and that's where this guy and his friends were.

My point is, there's a police station almost across the street from the 6 House. If there have been two stabbings in a month, well...shouldn't that reflect on the cop shop more than the establishments? Wouldn't you tend to think that, with a police station in the neighbourhood, crime would be lower on average? Somehow, I think they're more to blame than the ghost of Whitey Bulger.

Whatever. I am so glad we went tonight. I love that place...perhaps more now than ever.

BTW-did you ever go to the game? I didn't hear from you, and you didn't post about it (neither did I, but I haven't felt very post-y lately!).

Yeah, I did look for you before the game when I was "roaming", but you hadn't yet arrived when I was over by section 2. I'm not sure if I'm still gonna do that game post-probably not-but it's funny, I remember thinking, that other than a Yankees game, that was probably the most visiting fans I had ever seen at Fenway. And sure enough, Gordon Edes said the exact same thing that night on one of the sports shows, so it wasn't just me. :)

I need to post because OMG I've never seen Righty and Lefty before and I LOVE THEM.
Also that was our 3rd Bonds homerun. We say 702 & 703 in SF, and now 748 (which is going to be his only HR in Boston)...

Would it really be a south Boston bar if there'd never been a fight on premises were someone got ambulanced off?

I mean, sympathy and my own best wishes to the poor mook who got hurt; there aren't a lot of people in this world who deserve to suffer being stabbed. But incidents like this make reputations for bars.

Evidently he'd been drinking since noon and was spoiling for trouble by the time he got to our end of Broadway...
