After I got back from lunch yesterday, I found this email from Dave:

Did you see Tessie’s face this morning? She’s got a big scar on the side of her face, next to her right eye. A big clump of fur is missing, and she was bleeding. Maybe she had a fight with GH this AM. I don’t think it’s gonna heal by this weekend. I felt so bad for her. She was just lying on the couch motionless and looking very sad when I left her. Take a look as soon as you get home, and maybe put something on her wound?

Needless to say, I kind of freaked out...Tap can attest to this. I'd already taken (a little more than) my entire lunch hour, but even so, I still thought seriously about running home to look at her, because of course, I'm imagining the absolute worst (huge 3-inch gash that'll need stitches, etc). But I called Dave at work and he said it was more of a scrape than a "scar." He said she had a little bald patch and there was mild bleeding.

Still...I was worried. I fired off a panicky email to the cat show's entry clerk, and I bought a fresh tube of Bacitracin on my way home.

To my relief, when I saw it, it was much better than I'd feared. I was envisioning a hunk of fur missing from below her eye, from her cheekbone. Turns out, it's above her eye, on that part of her head that's already sparsely furred. I put on Bacitracin a few times last night and again this morning...it looks much better. I think she'll be fine for the show this weekend...Still, it's a little like having a ginormous zit two days before Senior Prom. But at least it's not as bad as the picture in my head!

This is how it looked when I got home last night:

It's already a lot less noticible this morning.

Spook gets something like that often due to the fact that she can be rather enthusiastic with the scratching and cleaning at times - we clean it and put ointmen on it and it clears up fairly quickly

Or...someone else went a little mad with the cleaning...Gun-Hee is entirely capable of that.

Aw, looks like she's doing fine here. I'm very glad for it.

I would just be keeping an eye on it, I agree with the possible over enthusiastic cleaning. My girl gets red in that spot when her allergies flare up and i just keep an eye on it. Poor thing *sends happy thoughts to you*!

Oh, man, a message like that would have me in a panic. But she looks very calm about it :D

Just reading dave's email made my heart sink. Poor thing. I think she looks ok though.. I wouldn't be suprised if it was healed by the cat show this weekend.

Funny thing. I saved the icon because of your MASSIVE adoration for Domo. I LOVE YODA. And I think domo's expression is hillarious. So, the combination killed me. But, sigh, I know nothing about Master Domo.
