One of my favourite things I saw in Miami was South Beach's commemorative Victory Garden. It's wonderful. You can imagine it having been there since WWII...even though it's only a few years old.
Sadly, we passed it at the end of our visit, on the way back to our car, but it captivated me.

Now more than ever...Collapse )

It started out so optimistically, our last National League game.

Manny being Manny during the pregame workouts and all...

I should have known we were in trouble when the cheerleaders came out...Collapse )

Call me crazy, but I have an irrational fondness for Tropicana Field. Maybe it's because I've seen almost as many Red Sox games there as I have at Fenway, maybe it's the rain-proof, air-conditioned roof, I don't know.

Last Monday, we went to the first of a four-game Red Sox series at Tampa.

Those who know me know I have a weakspot for ball-headed mascots...Collapse )

This is the photo I couldn't believe I got; it reminds me of piney61.

Raymond was actually pretty amusing while the Sox players warming up.Collapse )
