I feel so embarrassed. I just saw a movie and I have no clue what happened. But then, I'm not 100% certain I was supposed to be entirely enlightened at the end of Janghwa, Hongryeon (A Tale of Two Sisters)

Like recent Japanese horror movies like Ringu (The Ring) and Ju-On (The Grudge), Two Sisters is slated for an American remake. Hopefully, it won't make sense here, either.

Two Sisters is a beautful film even as it is a horrifying psycho-thriller along the lines of Hitchcock's Vertigo and Psycho. Always keeping the viewer off balance, and, refreshingly for this day and age, making the audience make up their own minds as to what was imagined and what really happened. The actors are terse and believable, and the house itself is a beautiful, patterned fifth star.

It's probably not going to be an easy film to see in the theatres (it's here in Boston for only one week), but it's well worth catching if you can, now, before it becomes supersized and cast with blonde actresses.
