I saw this guy directing traffic (or something) in the middle of Summer Street at Atlantic Avenue, right by South Station. Apparently, I walked by at the end of his shift, or else he saw me taking his photo, because all I managed to get was him walking off the centre divider. He had red lights on his cassock, a white glove, and he was using a full-colour crucifix to direct the traffic.
When I took the photo, I was thinking to myself, "Man...and people think the weirdos are only in California."
Edit: I got the following email this morning...turns out, Brother Nathanael is something of a celebrity:

which is all about the guy (more specifically, him getting shot with a BB gun last week while waving his crucifix at cars in Colorado).
Awesome. And it looks like I managed to catch a special unscheduled performance, since he seems to usually work Coolidge Corner rather than South Station...
