I totally meant to post about this last week; I was reminded of it today by pilarcruz. I saw this ad during either Lost or Gilmore Girls. Dave was fast forwarding through the commercials. I saw...a house. On water. And a mailbox. And two people. I was all, "OMG, rewind that. I want to see that." "You want to watch the commercial?" "YES. Do you know what that is?!"

We watch that commercial, and I'm all, "Do you know what that is? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS?" Dave was a typical guy: "No..." "It's only freaking Il Mare in ENGLISH, isn't it?" "Wait, what?" He rewound it to watch it again.

Dude. It so obviously is the same damn movie. Only way worse. Because it has Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reaves.

I actually told my Korean teacher about it last night. She was as aghast as I am. They already shredded Shall We Dansu?, and now this? Don't even get me started on The Magnificent Seven...

Do yourself a favour...see the original. Always.

Just wait until My Sassy Girl gets Westernised next year...by Gurinder Chadha, of all people. You think I'm irate now?

When I clicked the link and saw the title was "The Lake House", I thought of James Patterson's book. Then I read the plot. mmm. NO. And the thought of Sandra bullock (she's not as bad as..)and Keanu Reeves destroying one of James Patterson's novels (and one of my favorites) makes me physically ill.
So, yes, I am counting my blessings that it's not based on his book.

What's the original Always?

So, so weird that I just read this, as a friend and I were discussing seven samurai this afternoon at lunch. She was telling me how her husband (then her boyfriend) took her to see the magnificent seven and she was all like, 'rip-off, rip-off,' and he was like, 'huh?'
I won't go into details, but hat movie changed their relationship. It was a great story.
So it's weird that you're posting on this.

I'm not familiar with the movie you're currently raving about, but I will tell you that I LOVE KEANU REEVES!!!
And I make no apologies about it. I lurv him. I'll see the movie because of him.

Took way too long to find this post, because as soon as I saw it, thought of your reaction. :P Does the original actually make any sense? Seeing as it looks like this one... uh, doesn't.
