Two points about last night's Lost [Mar. 30th, 2006|08:25 am]
한국 사람이 아니다

[Current Location |Dave's (WTF when'd they add this?)]
[Current Mood |awakeawake]

  1. Was it just me, or did Henry seem to memorise those numbers awfully fast?

  2. Did anyone else catch who the woman whose house Locke inspected, the one with "no husband, no boyfriend" was?
Edit to add...Also, because I have the dumb this morning, I just got the pun in the title of the episode: Lock(e)down Yes, Hi, 9:22am, it's been more than 12 hours since the thing aired (and we've known the title for a while)...yep, that's me, mind like a steel trap...rusted shut.

What do you mean? Who added what location where?

if you update at the web area, there's a field labeled "location". If you put in useful info (like a city, or a zip code, or a set of gps coordinates, it'll link to a map of where you are.)

That's really...kind of scary, in a way. I don't know if I want people to know where I am that accurately...think I'll be just saying things like "Home" and "Work" in there.

sure, you can put any old thing you want. I was contemplating "earth" for a bit.

Oh thanks. I was totally confused because I thought it pertained to Lost and I missed something crucial. ;)

well, you can put the "magic numbers" in as gps coordinate and get an island in the ocean. :)

oooh that makes sense, especially since...

ok so now that you've said that, there was the package dropped by parachute. So when Henry put in the 'magic numbers', the package appeared at that location - those coordinates?

I... guess? Wow. More questions now. Thanks. :P

Someone on lost_geek theorised that the lockdown happened after a certain amount of shifts (540? I think they said), and pointed out that the drop probably accompanies a staff change on button patrol.

They also wondered if the map that appeared under blacklight was pointing to the food drop location.

(This is also where I got the hint about the mysterious Middle Eastern woman...)

I immediately thought he memorized the numbers too quickly.

I didn't catch who the woman was, but I thought it was conspicuous that they made specific mention of the fact and I thought it was presumptuous of John to assume she had a husband.

I'm also concerned about the baddies his dad caused to be on his tail. I have a feeling they're going to be involved with his impending paralysis.

Well now...that woman...looked rather Middle Eastern, don't you think?

I think he said the husband thing because he was thinking of proposing, and kind of had it on the brain; I mean, that was my take on it. Of course, it was basically a ploy to get is to notice who she was...

That *would* be yet another connection.

I had such anxiety watching last night's episode. I'm so happy to have that feeling in my chest again. It's been a LONG time!

There's another theory out there that Locke's dad is the original Sawyer...the Sawyer who scammed James' mom...

Regarding point 1...I'm STILL trying to remember the numbers after 2 seasons. LOL Like Hank Hill says, "That boy ain't right".

Who was the woman? I knew she was probably important. I still need to watch it again.

Not to give it away but, here's two clues:
1) Don't you think she looked Middle Eastern?
2) She seemed somehow amused about not having a husband or boyfriend, in a rueful, missed chance sort of way...

Got it!! It's only 7:40am here...still not fully aware.

Time to browse some Lost boards.

Dude.
At 7:40 am here, I had been up for 20 minutes and was no where near computer-comprehensive...

If you find anything good, hook me up, yo. I have five policies to issue...and two days to do it in.

Do you know lost_geek? Interesting stuff there...

I found the image that is on the door that was seen with the black light.

What language is that? Latin?

Latin, indeed.

Check on the TWOP boards, around page 13 for this episode - someone has translated all the latin, so you don't have to.

I'm vaguely annoyed that babelfish doesn't do latin.

Interesting. And yeah, that looks like Latin to me.

This seems to imply that there is another hatch out there, too...I see CV I, CV II, CV III and CV IV...

There are the numbers...complete shut down every 6-8 months? That must be what the lockdown was.

Wonder what the incidents were?
