Domo-Kun's European New Year Adventure [Apr. 15th, 2005|01:19 am]
한국 사람이 아니다
[Current Mood |sleepysleepy]
[Current Music |NESN replay of the game, bottom of the 8th]

left: Domo watches the monitor on the plane to see if he's almost there. Domo...the flight just took off twenty minutes

right: Domo prepares for the New Year's Eve festivities in Amsterdam. Not having an ice bucket or ice machine is no reason not to have Champagne!

left: Domo on the train to Brussels, watching excitedly out the window as the miles fly by, planning what he wants to do and see.

right:...and he's the first one off the train at Gare Centrale, eager to hit the town.

left: Brussels is a very cosmopolitan city, and also a very old one, filled with history...

right:...and art...

left:...and real castles!

right: Domo is fond of the way this plaza is designed, with a view overlooking the whole city.

left:Eventually, Domo gets tired of walking around the city, and hitches a ride with a friendly backpacker. It's so comfortable in the pack, he dozes off...

right:...and, to his surprise, wakes up in Chamonix, France, the site of the first Winter Olympic Games in 1924!

left: Domo gets himself a room in a pretty little chalet.

right: The next morning he wakes up bright and early and takes a ski lesson.

left: Chamonix is so beautiful...but Domo thinks he's ready for a little more challenge.

right: So he hits the road to Switzerland to ski the Matterhorn.

left: Domo in the town square of Zermatt. Where on this signpost is the bar?

right: He finds himself a room in another chalet and goes to bed early...for tomorrow he will ski the Matterhorn!

left:Since he had that ski lesson in Chamonix, Domo is feeling quite confident. He gets up at sunrise, lift pass in hand...

right:...And heads to the ski rental to pick out his skis.

left:The ride in the gondola to the top of the mountain is swift and silent.

right:Domo at the top, ready to attack the slopes.

left:Domo? Maybe you should have taken more than just one lesson...

right:The Ski Patrol's St. Bernard Klaus is on the scene to revive Domo with a barrel full of brandy.

left:Having surived the Matterhorn - sort of - Domo checks out some incredible ice sculptures.

right:He's especially drawn to this bear. Can't imagine why.

For all of you who have been following Domo's adventures, here's a little bonus: A rare look
behind the scenes in this never-before seen footage of The Making of a Domo-Kun Adventure.

Oh, Domo...Behave!

Puts the Travelocity Gnome to shame.

(I've got some hate on that campaign. It's a rip-off of something that occurred in 1988, well-known to the IBM z/VM operating system community.)
